Boston Sports History
by David Banner
Carlton Fisk waving his arms, willing the ball to stay fair as it strikes the left field foul pole, to win game 6 for the Red Sox in the '75 World Series. Bobby Orr, flying across the goal, perpendicular to the ice as his shot beats St. Louis goalie Glenn Hall to win the 1970 Stanley Cup for the Big Bad Bruins. Havlicek stealing the ball to clinch game 7 in the classic 1964 semifinals, as basketballs' most storied franchise, the Boston Celtics, go on to win another NBA Championship. Adam Vinatieri's field goal splitting the uprights as time runs out to give the New England Patriots a stunning upset over the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI. These are just a few of some of the greatest sports moments that Boston teams have been a part of.
